2 1/2 cups flour
1 (1/4 ounce) package active dry yeast
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup warm water
1/2-1 tablespoon olive oil
cornmeal, for sprinkling
-Mix a little sugar into the warm water. Sprinkle yeast on top and wait for 10 minutes or until it gets all foamy. Pour into a large bowl, and add flour, salt, olive oil. Mix to combine.
-Knead for 6-8 minutes until you have a moderately stiff dough that is smooth. You can add more flour if needed. Cover the dough, and let rest for 20-30 minutes.
- Lightly grease a 12-inch pizza pan. Sprinkle with a little bit of cornmeal.
**TO FREEZE: Divide dough in half. Take one half, and wrap in plastic wrap and store in the freezer for your next use, OR make in advance, and freeze both.**
- When you're ready to use, take half of the dough and place in the refrigerator over night. Place the thawed dough on a pizza pan and pat it with your fingers until it stretches over the whole pan.
If you're looking for a crispy crust, pre-bake at 425 F for 10 minutes.
- Pull the crust from the oven, and top with your desired toppings. I started with a thin layer of Ranch, then the remaining toppings ending with the cheese.
-Bake at 425 F for 10-20 minutes longer or until bubbly and hot.
I like to have a few Ziploc full of this dough in the freezer for those days when you just aren't feelin' like making a huge meal. It's so nice to just throw things on the dough and bake it. It's also the least messy dinner to make! (We're big fans of paper plates!)

Homemade pizza & dough is a favorite of mine! Thanks for the freezing tip, that had never crossed my mind.
YUMMY! I am SOO adding this to my Wifey Cookbook for after I get married!
Thank you!!!!
I love doing food projects with my little girl. Making your own pizza is a great activity that we both love. I also love that we can each make our own the way that we want. Freezing the dough will give us a great activity to turn to whenever we want. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks so much for this recipe. We have pizza in our home every Friday, and this will make it a lot easier.
